There's a new Khris Davis in town

If I referred to a player hitting .350 with 15 homers and a 1.055 OPS in 260 at-bats, you might think I was talking about Chris Davis’ start to this season.

But I would actually be talking about Khris Davis‘ performance between three stops in the minors last season.

In case you haven’t noticed — and no one would blame you for tuning out after Ryan Braun’s suspension in late July — Davis recently took over as the Brewers’ starting left fielder and is batting .375 (12 for 32) with four homers in his last 11 games.

He doesn’t have much of a pedigree and wasn’t setting the world on fire at Triple-A Nashville before his promotion, batting .255 with an .822 OPS, but his minor-league track record is impressive enough that this hot start to his big-league career shouldn’t go unnoticed, especially since he figures to get plenty of at-bats down the stretch.

I’m not saying he’s a must-add or anything, but in deeper leagues, I’m intrigued. I feel better about him than I did about Robbie Grossman or Kole Calhoun a couple weeks ago.
